Kipusa is a Swahili word that means ‘beautiful young lady’. Founded in May 2011 by former Media Professional Anne Mpinga, Kipusa is an African Fashion brand that celebrates women of all shapes and sizes, draping their curves flawlessly in beautiful, vibrant garments.

Anne draws her inspiration from her spiritual life and values, music, art, the shape and form of a woman’s curves; prints, the ease with which a child’s laughter resonates; love. She uses a variety of fabric and textures for her work including lace, raw silk, wax African prints, cotton and linen to create timeless, unique pieces. Kipusa is a brand that resonates with the woman who loves her curves, wears her clothes with confidence and channels her inner beautiful young lady.











Anne went through life in her hometown Nairobi, Kenya drawn to fashion and fascinated at the simplicity with which garments transformed the human aesthetic.

She currently holds a Bachelors Degree in Social Communications, with a Major in Radio Production. Many years into a successful media career, she learnt that it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams and her fascination with clothes at a tender age started a trend in what has led to her wonderful career in the fashion industry in Kenya and Africa. She developed Kipusa into a brand that gives back to society and empowers young people in their pursuits in the creative field by offering support and ensuring that workers are paid fairly.
