Selected among over 1,000 applications, this year’s finalists come from countries as far apart as Bolivia, Rwanda and Egypt. These finalists are now undergoing coaching with McKinsey, INSEAD and Cartier mentors to prepare for the second round of the competition. The coaching takes the form of weekly phone or face to face meetings. In the second round finalists are asked to hand over a detailed business plan and make an oral presentation of their business.
The six Laureates, each representing a geographical region, will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on the evening of October 11, 2011, at the Annual Global Meeting of the Women’s Forum in Deauville, France in which Mrs. Lucy Kanu of Idea Builders Initiative is a member of the sub-Saharan jury.
