Miss Nigeria 2011 – Feyijimi Sodipo |
After three years of running the Miss Nigeria pageant, former beauty queen Nike Oshinowo has stepped down from the position as creative director.
The franchise owners of the Pageant, Daily Times Nigeria and African Times Network (ATN) announced her departure in a statement, saying ‘From 2009 to 2011, Chief Mrs Adenike Oshinowo-Soleye held the position as the Creative Director of the Miss Nigeria Pageant to inject elegance and pageantry to the brand. During her time in office she maintained an exemplary reputation for Miss Nigeria and remains an active affiliate of the pageant.’
A new board of directors has been put together, which sees former Miss Nigeria UK Elohor Elizabeth Aisien as creative director. She will be leading the team with her agency, Beth Model Management Africa, the organisers of Elite Model Look Nigeria.
The organizers, who also announced that the 38th edition of the pageant will hold this year, say the rigorous search for potential contestants will begin in October 2012. The auditions will be held in Nigeria, England and America, and the pageant will take place in December 2012.
