Idea Builders Initiative is pleased to announce its partnership with Vital Voices Global Partnership for the 2016 International Women’s Day Mentoring walk in Lagos State.
The Global Mentoring Walk convenes established women leaders and emerging women leaders to walk together in their community. As they walk, Mentors and Mentees share personal and professional challenges and successes to establish a mentoring relationship. This platform enables mentors to guide, advise and support emerging leaders and social entrepreneurs. Held on the same day in over 20 countries across the world, the Mentoring Walk unifies the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network. This year’s walk will be held on Saturday, March 5th 2016 to celebrate International Women’s Day.
The Walk promotes mentoring relationships and instills the values of mentoring in rising leaders, who are further challenged to give back to future generations as well as provide an environment for collaboration and networking among emerging and established women leaders within the community.

About Idea Builders Initiative
Idea Builders Initiative (IBI) was established in
2003, which originally focused on women, agriculture, and rural community
development. It is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission as
incorporated Trustees. It is a Non-profit (NGO) dedicated to providing
innovative leadership and entrepreneur development interventions targeted
primary at women and girls.
In 2005, the organization re-launched its women
programs to include a new focus on inspiring women to succeed first as
individuals before other roles in society called ‘’Tomorrow’s Woman’’; this saw
us moving closer to serve young people in secondary schools as in keeping with
our first love-agriculture, we launched the ‘’SVGP’’ – a School Vegetative
Gardening Project targeting public schools in our geo-political zones in
Nigeria.
Further to this, in 2007, we began mainstream
agriculture into environmental education and also launched two capacity
building and micro enterprise support initiatives. In 2008, we began a process
of consolidation by prioritizing women and girls as our core beneficiaries.
Following this internal restructuring period, we began delivering programs
through strengthened NGOs and CBOs partnership as a key delivering strategy.
Now after 10 years of operations, Idea Builders initiative
occupies a more than significant presence in the development sector. The
organization has developed into a consulting and social entrepreneurial
endeavor.
