Qetenggei and Kaya design shop is selling African fabric from West Africa

Qetenggei carries a line of carefully handpicked African fabric from West Africa (Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria), India, Holland, Kenya and some from Uganda.

The outlet at Park Royale near Watoto Central also has an in-house tailoring unit that can make your African couture dreams come to life.

Also housed within is the shoe line called Kaya shoes. The shoe line has been made to tap into the latest fad on the market – ladies’ pumps and men’s Oxford style. The shoes are made out of leather, rubber soles and finished with the vibrant African fabric. The brains behind Kaya, Gertrude Emojong, is a writer with a passion for fashion.

“I love the vibrancy and versatility of the kitenge. Out of the love, Kaya was born,” she said at the official opening of the shop last Friday evening.
