Beyonce's trainer has revealed that the singer eats one vegan meal a day to keep off her pregnancy weight.

The 31-year-old mother - who admitted to Oprah in an interview last week that she gained a whopping 57lbs while pregnant with daughter Blue Ivy - apparently avoids eating animal products to maintain her fit, post-baby body. 
Her trainer, Marco Borges, told Life & Style that he recommended vegan-ism to his client because it 'typically gets people to eat more greens than they normally would.'

The vegan diet - which involves cutting out all animal products including dairy and eggs - ranked fourth on the Daily Beast's 14 best diets for 2013.

Although its guidelines are strict, those who follow a vegan lifestyle benefit from lower cholesterol and blood pressure, a decreased risk of heart disease and effective weight-loss results.
