‘AMINA’ To Premiere On Oct 17 In Leicester Square London

This movie is a 'must watch', the story line is one that most if not every young woman can relate to. I will definitely look out for this movie as soon as it hit theaters in Lagos. I hope other young women and men will go out to see this movie, we can all learn a thing or two from it, plus our very own Omotola is starring in it :).

The movie ‘Amina’ is set for its world premiere at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square on the 17th October 2012. A British/Nigerian production, the movie is a psychological human drama which features Nollywood topshots, Omotola Jalade – Ekeinde and Van Vicker. They feature alongside top British movie stars Wil Johnson, Vincent Regan and Alison Carroll aka Lara Croft.

The movie is written, produced and directed by Christian Ashaiku, an innovative Nigerian born, London based filmmaker; AMINA tells a deeply emotional and dramatic story dealing with the themes of love, loss and redemption.

AMINA is told in flashback and tells the the life story of a gifted young woman (OmotolaJalade-Ekeinde) who, devastated by a series of life changing events suffers a total breakdown and finds herself incarcerated in a mental hospital. Only one person can help Amina, her doctor (Wil Johnson), but he must overcome his own demons before he can help Amina confront her past.

UK movie practitioners have described Amina as the ace card that would place Nollywood more firmly in the international movie scene and grant it more recognition than it currently has.
