YKP Clothing: debut S/S 18 collection 'Music and Heartbeats'

 

Nigerian menswear brand YKP Clothing was founded by Yamai Patrick. The brand sees its style as Afro-casual. It’s a combination of African fashion with an urban feel.

This collection is for the stylish African gentleman who wants to make a statement. It’s a modern fusion of casual kaftan and print to create timeless fashion. The debut collection is inspired by the growing relationship between African music and Fashion portraying how it captures our hearts.

The brand aims to blend African fashion with stylish prints which may appear simple but highly sophisticated.

Bimbo Balogun is the designer behind Bimbeads concept. Bimbeads concepts is a company that specialises in the designing of beads and gemstones such as Amethyst, Amazonite, Rubi, Freshwater pearls etc to create exquisite jewellery.
The jewellery is made to stock and to order. Bimbeads concept has been awarded multiple times amongst is the " Best jewellery designer in 2016"
The CEO, Bimbo Balogun was given a scholarship by Goldman Sachs to study Entrepreneurial Management at the Pan Atlantic university Lagos. She's passionate about female empowerment. 

She has participated in exhibitions and runways shows within and outside the country.
She was featured on BBC African Voice documentary. She is the National welfare of Fashion designers Association of Nigeria and Fashion and head sector of Fashion & textile at NNEW- NECA Network of Entrepreneurial Women. 

RTF Spotlight: John Edom Visuals



John Edom Visuals is a business in Calabar that deals with art and creative upcycling. It is concerned with making products that are environment-friendly and have a utilitarian purpose.

However, these products are made from waste materials like old papers, aluminium cans, waste fabrics and Ankara.

The aim is to reconceptualise and recontextualise the use of media, form and technique of production for viability and sustainability.
